I've noticed how much my father has done for me over the years, and I owe him a debt of gratitude. My father is a hero to me.
My father is, without a doubt, a fantastic man. Dads have certain characteristics that make them stand out. In a child's life, a good father makes all the difference!

1. He is a handy man.
When your bike tyre needs to be fixed or your shower head splits, he's the guy to call. Your father is likely to have his own toolkit and can repair almost everything you break!
2. He is open minded.
A good father knows that the world and people are continually evolving. He doesn't strive to keep the 1970s fashionable, instead adapting to the modern way of life and allowing his children to be people in their own time – using social media, speaking in current jargon, and so on.

My father is the one who is always cracking jokes and laughing. When your father is having a good time at a dinner party, you can hear his hearty laugh from across the kitchen!

I recall expecting my father to beat the heck out of me the first time I'd ever been arrested. To my surprise, I didn't get a scolding; instead, he expressed sympathy for my plight and acknowledged the facts of the situation.

He was still seated on the bench at your sports activities, cheering you on. Other times, you'd need assistance with your homework, and he'd still find the time to assist you, even though it meant staying up all night.
10. He is a role model.
He has a powerful personality. He not only advises you how to live your life, but he also shows you how to do it. He's gentle with your mother, compassionate with you, and dedicated to his work...
He still maintains a professional attitude and never does something he wouldn't want you to do. He lives by the ideals that he wants his children to imitate.
11. He has an unselfish spirit.
He is still behaving in his wife's and children's best interests and needs. If your father is always giving to others, this is a strong indication that he is a selfless person.
