When it comes to Biden's decisions, stupid is as stupid does

A notable remark from the 1994 hit film Forrest Gump remained with me: "Foolish is as stupid does." President Joe Biden's decision to lift sanctions on the Russian Nord Stream 2 pipeline, which runs 754 miles from Russia to Germany, while canceling the Keystone XL pipeline makes little sense. It's a complete blunder.

We are allowing the Russians to profit while exerting significant control over Germany. Biden made this choice shortly after Russian hackers took down our Colonial Pipeline, which served the northeastern states of the United States. Nothing like easing sanctions on Russian pipeline projects to Germany to reward Russian misconduct. "Stupid is as stupid does," as the saying goes.

Staying on the subject of foreign policy idiocy, the terrorist group Hamas just launched 4,000 rockets at Israel. The rockets used in this unjustified attack were most likely manufactured in Iran, a country that despises both the US and Israel. The money utilized by Iran to build these missiles most certainly came from the Obama/Biden administration, which gave Iran $1.7 billion in early 2016.

The funds were provided to Iran as part of a decades-old arbitration claim between the United States and Iran. We apparently made no counterclaim on Iran's compensation to America for holding 52 Americans hostage for 444 days.

While President Donald Trump terminated the ill-advised Iran nuclear deal, Biden is tone deaf and eager to resurrect it. The Obama-Biden nuclear deal with Iran did not prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon; rather, it postponed its development.

With Iran's hatred for Israel and ambition to wipe Israel off the face of the Earth, allowing Iran to develop nuclear weapons capabilities is not only foolish, but also dangerous. Iran is the world's largest supporter of terrorist organizations today. When will the Biden administration recognize the threat posed by Iran in the Middle East? Is the recent firing of 4,000 missiles at Israel a hint? Iran refers to the United States as the "great Satan" and Israel as the "little Satan."

You may recall that Vice President Joe Biden was in charge of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2006, which cost US taxpayers $862 billion and scarcely made a dent in the country's employment stats. Biden never explained why those "shovel-ready" jobs failed so miserably.

However, by October 2019, President Barack Obama had admitted that "shovel-ready" jobs do not exist. Even The New York Times highlighted in an article titled "The Education of President Obama" that "shovel-ready" projects are rare in public works projects.

However, Biden appears to have learned nothing from the disasters that occurred under his watch, and now we've reached the trillion-dollar level of employment creation. Repealing the Obama/Biden administration's failures surely qualifies for President Biden's current "stupid is as stupid does" suggestions.

People can make more money sitting at home, receiving government benefits, than they can by going back to work, thus the Biden administration's primary aim should be to fill the existing jobs that are going empty. When I walk anyplace in the neighborhood, I see signs offering job openings at every shop.

"Stupid is as stupid does," however, when it comes to Democratic programs. We'll continue to pay folks more than they could earn working. This is expected to last until early September 2021.

Unfortunately for our country, we have a president and a Congress who want to repeat the faults and blunders of the Obama/Biden administrations. These aren't insignificant blunders. They've now surpassed the trillion-dollar mark.

Biden's current border policy is absurd, his spending is out of control, his jobs program is a disaster, and his foreign policy actions thus far have benefited our enemies while shortchanging our own workers. In his book, former Secretary of Defense Bob Gates, who served in both Republican and Democratic administrations, claims that Biden has been on the wrong side of practically every foreign policy and national security issue for the past four decades.

When you look at Biden's first four months in office, you can only conclude that he has repeated his disastrous foreign policy history, which can be summarized as "stupid is as stupid does."
