However, in 2004, archaeologists from France found a 9,500-year-old cat grave in Cyprus. This makes it the world's oldest known pet cat, dating back over 4,000 years before Egyptian cat art!

2. Cats sleep for 70 percent of their lives.

You'd be right if you said cats spent the majority of their lives sleeping. Cats spend 70% of their lives resting, which equates to about 13-16 hours a day, according to Veterinary Hub. It's the life of a cat!

3. For 20 years, an Alaskan town's mayor was a pet.

Stubbs, an orange tabby cat, served as mayor of Talkeetna, a small Alaskan town, for 20 years! He won many uncontested elections, and despite not having any legislative influence, he was well-liked by both locals and visitors.

14. In one minute, Didga the cat will perform 24 tricks.
